Consistency has been has been the hallmark of Franklin & Marshall men’s basketball. Fans have come to expect winning seasons, conference championship and NCAA appearances. Despite a few “rebuilding years” that is exactly what the Diplomat faithful have witnessed over the years.

Diplomats Preseason No. 6 in D3Hoops.com Poll
The Franklin & Marshall men’s basketball team received their second top ten preseason ranking this week. The Diplomats are ranked sixth in the D3Hoops.com preseason Top 25. F&M was recently ranked fourth in The Sporting News College Basketball Magazine Preseason Top 10.

Midnight Madness Set for Friday
The Diplomats are set to formally kick off the 2009-2010 season Friday night with Midnight Madness. The annual event will start at 11 p.m. in the Mayser Center, and will be the formal introduction of both the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s basketball team is ranked fourth in The Sporting News College Basketball Magazine Preseason Top-10 F&M junior forward James McNally was given preseason All-America honorable mention by the organization.

Robinson Announces New Assistants
Franklin & Marshall basketball coach, Glenn Robinson, announced his new assistant coaches for the 2009-2010 season on Tuesday. Brian J. Murphy of Clinton, N.Y., and Christopher J. McMonagle of West Conshohocken, Pa. will join the NCAA Division III’s most victorious coach on the bench.

Men’s Basketball Welcomes Class of 2013
Six members of the class of 2013 will vie for spots on Franklin & Marshall’s 2009-2010 roster. The class of 2013 includes a pair of 6’ 8” forwards, and two high school teammates of sophomore point guard, Georgio Milligan.

Robinson Set for Hall Induction
Franklin & Marshall men’s basketball coach, Glenn Robinson, will be inducted into the Delaware County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, June 28. Robinson will enter the Hall with a distinguished class that includes broadcasting legend, Harry Kalas, and Vince Papale, the former Philadelphia Eagle and subject of the 2006 film Invincible.

Danny Selig's NCAA Experience - Saturday
When I applied to Franklin and Marshall College (F and M), I had images of participating in fraternal shenanigans like the legends of ‘Animal House’, enormous college buildings, raving into the odd hours of the night and being surrounded by the most beautiful women in the world. When I arrived, I was dismayed to find that the buildings were only of average size, that I became a math major who never enjoyed the party life and that the women were not the most beautiful in the world.

A 1967 graduate of West Chester University, Robinson became the all-time wins leader in Division III history by recording his 667th victory on February 14, 2004 at home versus Muhlenberg College. Robinson is 10th among all active NCAA coaches in victories and has already surpassed legendary UCLA coach John Wooden (664-112) for 24th on the all-time NCAA wins list. Historically, Robinson guided the Diplomats to the Division III Final Four in 1979, 1991, 1996 and 2000 and was named the Basketball Times Division III "Coach of the Year" in 1991. He has earned conference and NABC "Coach of the Year" honors 12 times, including the 2004 award for guiding the Diplomats to a 26-4 record, the Centennial Conference title and an NCAA Elite Eight berth.
