LANCASTER, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall's Matthew Tate was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. The honor is the first for Tate in his career and the third for a member of the F&M basketball team this season.
Tate averaged 28.0 points, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals in a 2-0 week for the Diplomats. The senior guard poured in a career-high 35 points in the 80-77 win against Ursinus and followed that with a 21-point, eight-assist and three-steal stat line in the come-from-behind 77-70 win against Muhlenberg. Tate shot 59.3 percent from the floor, including 66.7 percent (8-12) from beyond the arc.
The Diplomats are back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Johns Hopkins for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
