Men’s Basketball Welcomes Class of 2013

LANCASTER, Pa. - Six members of the class of 2013 will vie for spots on Franklin & Marshall's 2009-2010 roster. The class of 2013 includes a pair of 6' 8" forwards, and two high school teammates of sophomore point guard, Georgio Milligan. 

"This is an outstanding group of student-athletes," said Head Coach, Glenn Robinson. "We are extremely anxious to incorporate them into the team."

14 of 16 players from the 2008-2009 roster return for the upcoming campaign, including 4 of 5 starters. F&M posted a record of 26-7 in 2008-09, advancing to the Final Four for the fifth time in program history.

The Diplomats open the season with the annual Rotary Tipoff Tournament on November 20th. The Diplomats will face City Tech (N.Y.) at 8:00 p.m.

Brandon Beckford            6-4            Hackensack, N.J. / Don Bosco Prep

Averaged 16 points, and 6 rebounds per game as a senior... Named one of New Jersey's Top 70 Seniors by NJHoops.com. All-NNJIL Group C First Team choice.

Max Brewer            6-2            Park Ridge, N.J. / Don Bosco Prep

Averaged 10 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his senior year... Team captain... All-league second team choice.

Justin Driver            6-0            Trenton, N.J. / Solebury Prep (Pa.)

Averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists as a senior.... Named team MVP.

Hayk Gyokchyan            6-8            Beirut, Lebanon / Conwell-Egan Catholic (Pa.) & Lawrenceville (N.J.)

Averaged 17 points, 11.4 rebounds, and three blocked shots per game as a senior. His conference's all-time leading scorer. Team MVP. All-Trenton Times selection.

Kevin Henry            6-8            Spring City, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts

Averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2 blocks per game as a senior. The Pottstown Mercury Athlete of the Year. Team Captain... Led team to program's first league championship. All-PAC First Team.

Alex Valencia            6-4            Rosedale, N.Y. / The Masters School

Averaged 11.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game as a senior...Started every game... Team Captain junior and senior year... All-League junior and senior year... Helped team to a FAA State Championship junior year... MVP in State Championship with game high 22 points... Led team to a FAA League Championship senior year... Honor Roll Student...
