The 2017-18 season was another banner year for the men's basketball program. Franklin & Marshall earned its 25th trip to the NCAA Tournament and made it to the Sweet 16 for the 17th time. The Diplomats put together a 22-7 mark, which was the 28th time in school history the Diplomats finished with 20 or more wins.
Brandon Federici was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-America Second Team announced today. The team is selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. The honor marks the 26th time -- and first since 2013 -- that a member of F&M's basketball team has received All-America recognition.
Franklin & Marshall's Brandon Federici was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Men's Basketball Second Team when the teams were announced on Wednesday.
Brandon Federici was named to the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) and D3hoops.com Middle Atlantic All-Region First Team when the teams where announced. Federici also earned All-Region Player of the Year by D3hoops.com. The all-region honors mark the third consecutive year he has earned the honor and the Regional Player of the Year recognition is the first for his career.
Franklin & Marshall guard Brandon Federici has been selected to participate in the 2018 Reese’s Division III All-Star game announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Federici will be the first player in program history to play in the game.
Franklin & Marshall fell 72-62 to Ramapo in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament Friday evening. The Roadrunners advanced to tomorrow’s round with the win and will face M.I.T. in the Elite 8. The loss ends F&M’s season with a 22-7 record, the 28th time the Diplomats have finished with 20 or more victories.
F&M takes on Ramapo for the second time in program history. F&M last faced the Roadrunners in the 1991 Final Four and came away with a 109-56 victory to advance to the national championship game. If F&M advances, the Diplomats will face either Middlebury or MIT. F&M has never faced Middlebury and would face MIT for the third time. The series with the Engineers is tied at 1-1 with MIT winning the last contest 69-54 in the 2012 Elite Eight.
Franklin & Marshall’s Brandon Federici was named the Centennial Conference (CC) Winter Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's basketball, announced on Thursday. The honor marks the second-consecutive year Federici earned the distinction.
Franklin & Marshall continues its NCAA Tournament run this weekend when the Diplomats head to Ramapo to play in the sectional round. The Bradley Center will host two Sweet 16 round games on Friday night, March 9th when Middlebury and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) square off at 5:30 p.m. Ramapo takes on F&M at 7:30 p.m. The two winners advance to the NCAA Elite Eight game on Saturday, March 10th at 7:00 p.m.
Franklin & Marshall defeated host Christopher Newport 66-52 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Diplomats will face Ramapo in the Sweet 16 at a site and time to be determined. The trip will be the Diplomats 17th appearance in the Round of 16.
Franklin & Marshall used a strong surge midway through the second half to defeat Emory & Henry in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday evening at Christopher Newport. The Diplomats improved to 21-6 and will take on the winner of CNU and Lancaster Bible in tomorrow’s second round at CNU. Tip is slated for 7:00 p.m.
F&M faces Emory & Henry for the first time in program history. If the Diplomats advance they would face either Christopher Newport or Lancaster Bible. The game against CNU would be the first in series history and if F&M faces LBC, it would be the fourth meeting with F&M holding a 3-1 edge in the all-time series.

Brandon Federici was named Player of the Year and earned First Team All-CC honors, J.C. McGrath landed on the second team and Matthew Tate received honorable mention.

With the win, the Garnet secured the top-seed in next weekend’s CC Championship and improved to 21-4, 15-3 CC with their first win over F&M in five years.

The Diplomats improved to 20-4, 14-3 CC while the Red Devils fell to 14-10, 10-7. The 20 wins mark the 28th time in Glenn Robinson’s career the Diplomats have amassed 20 or more wins. The victory is the 950th in Coach Robinson’s 47-year career.
F&M opens the final week of the regular season hosting Dickinson for the 186th meeting. The Diplomats hold a 112-73 advantage overall and a 37-13 mark in Centennial action. The Diplomats close out the regular season at Swarthmore. F&M holds an active 10-game winning streak and looks to extend a 37-4 record in CC play.
