Thanksgiving Break Schedule

Power Yoga - Will have class Monday 12:05p.m. - 12:50 p.m.
Gentle Yoga - No class

Power Yoga

 

An all-levels Vinyasa yoga class with fast-paced sequences of challenging poses designed to increase strength, stamina, flexibility, balance, and equanimity. Register on Friday Sept. 11, 12-1p.m. in ROS 113

Location: ROS 113

Cost: $55 for 12 classes starting 9/14, limit 30 participants

Time: Mondays 12:05p.m. - 12:50 p.m.

What to bring:  Bring a yoga sticky mat.

 

Gentle Yoga

A beginner Hatha yoga class with easy postures designed to increase flexibility, relieve muscle tension, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. Register on Friday Sept. 11, 12-1p.m. in ROS 113

Location: ROS 113

Cost: $55/12 classes starting 9/18, limit 30 participants

Time: Fridays 12:05p.m. - 12:50 p.m

What to bring:  Bring a yoga sticky mat.

 

Zen Tai Chi 

Zen Tai Chi (a.k.a. I-Liq Chuan) is an art based on the principles of mindfulness and harmonized body movement.  The art emphasizes mindfulness training and development of natural body mechanics to unify the mind and body.

Zen Tai Chi can be practiced both as a martial art and gently for health purposes.  Zen Tai Chi practice calms the mind, improves mental focus, body awareness, balance, alignment, and develops relaxed body movement.

Location: Wood's Room

Cost: $5 per class, first class free!

Time: Mondays 5:00 - 6:00 pm

What to bring: There's no special equipment needed for the class.  Comfortable, non-restrictive clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended.

 

Pilates

Pilates is a method of body conditioning that combines stretching and strengthening exercises to tone muscles, improve posture and increase flexibility by training your mind and body to work together. This will be a beginner/intermediate class  that will teach you the basic concepts of the Pilates method and a series of controlled movements to  strengthen your core muscles: abs, back, hips and thighs. 

Beth Buckwalter AAAI/ISMA certified in Mat Pilates  

Location: ROS 113

Cost: $50 for 11 weeks

Time: Tuesdays 4:45- 5:45 starting 9/22

What to bring:  Most movements are done on the floor, so bring a mat and dress comfortably in yoga pants, bike shorts,etc.

 

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is an non-contact, energy-packed class that provides cardio routines for total body toning.  In this class, you jump, kick, and box your way into a healthier you. This kickboxing class is designed for all fitness levels and is structured with cueing and instruction to allow beginners as well as more advanced exercisers to follow the challenging combinations, burn fat, release stress, & have fun! Resistance training, abdominal work and stretching are added to the end of the workout.

Location: Wood's Room

Cost: $5/ per class

Time: Mondays 6:15pm - 7:15pm

What to bring: Please bring a large mat, or towel, water, and a small towel because you will sweat!

 

Core Fit

A strong core provides stability as a result of developing balance and strength.  This class works the hips, back, and abdominal area to provide that total toning and strengthening needed. Core Fit is much more than crunches and low back extensions!  Instruction for optimal form and results are provided making this class suitable for all fitness levels!

Location: Woods Room

Cost: $5/ per class

Time: Wednesdays 5:00pm - 5:45pm

What to bring: Please bring a large mat, or towel, and water.

 

Personal Training

Personal Training is available at a fee for all members of the college community.  If you are interested in this service please contact the individuals listed below.  These are individuals who have been approved by the College to provide this service to our patrons.

My name is Tansy Rodgers and I provide personalized training programs and consulting to help you build the better self that you always wanted. My services are client-focused and I offer many packages to fit your goals. I specialize in training not only individuals who want to get healthier and lose weight, but also sport specific training and individuals looking to boost their athletic edge.  In conjunction with personal training, I am also a Physical Therapist Assistant.  If you have an injury or an issue that requires specialized training techniques, I possess the knowledge to keep you safe during your workouts.
