Ann Phelan works tirelessly behind the scenes the make all of
Franklin & Marshall’s special events truly memorable
occasions. As the Coordinator of Internships and Athletic Events,
Phelan assists with programming all of the Department’s
annual events including Homecoming, Family Weekend, Reunion
Weekend, and the athletic picnic.
In addition, Phelan coordinates the hosting of postseason
championship events in the Centennial Conference, ECAC, EIWA and
NCAA.
Phelan came to Franklin & Marshall in August of 1994 as an
Admission receptionist, and quickly became the Director's Assistant
in Admissions. In that capacity, she served as the Coordinator of
Program Planning and on the Budget Priorities Committee.
In 1998, Phelan became the Office Coordinator in Athletics,
setting up the budget structure and overseeing the restructuring of
the office. Then, in November of 1999, she was named the Director
of Athletic Facilities & Events where she oversaw the daily
operations of department’s facilities, including program
scheduling, staffing, and logistical support required in areas of
equipment and facilities operations.
In 2005 she became the Assistant to Athletic Director, Coordinator
of Internships and Summer Camps. Phelan served as the Coordinator
of TeamWork, the Department’s annual community service
project, which cleans up the surrounding neighborhood.
Phelan played two years of volleyball at Salisbury University. She
graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a B.S. Psychology in
2001. She currently resides in Lancaster with her husband, Rick.
They have three grown sons, Christopher, Matthew and Adam.
